Centene Corporation is a multinational company that provides high-quality healthcare services to members worldwide. Centene is the largest Medicaid managed care organization in the country and offers a portfolio of services to government-sponsored healthcare programs.
Centene uses Citrix deployed within two on-premises data centers to improve resiliency and availability. Due to the ongoing complexity and costs of managing their datacenter, Centene will leverage Azure for disaster recovery as needed without incurring the costs of idle, rarely used hardware.
Solution
Coretek provided Centene with the knowledge and support to deploy a secure, governed, and scalable Azure Landing Zone for their Citrix Virtual Apps & Desktops workload using Citrix Cloud Services to combat the potential of on-premises downtime. In addition to guiding to ensure Azure Landing Zone standards and best practices are in place, Coretek also developed solutions for end-user experience hand-in-hand with the Centene team. These solutions comprise policy, personalization, and application connectivity. A crucial part of these end-user solutions is ensuring user personalization settings are available during a disaster recovery event.
Impact
This business continuity solution will ensure that Centene provides top-tier services even if service outages impact their on-prem data centers. Centene will embark on a three-phased approach to their final solution to support 9,000 users as they continue their cloud journey. To ensure business continuity and high availability, they plan to move from an Azure DR scenario to a fully active production “hybrid cloud” environment.
