Situation

Torrance Memorial Independent Physicians Association (TMIPA) was founded in 1983 and is an independent practice association (IPA) that enables doctors to practice from their own offices while collectively contracting with health insurance plans. Today, Torrance Memorial IPA is widely known as the area’s top medical group.

When TMIPA needed to purchase and deploy new laptops, Torrance decided to evaluate the alternative option to provide virtual desktops to their doctors instead of buying and deploying new laptops in a decentralized and disconnected manner.

Solution

Coretek assessed the applications and resources required for the Torrance doctors and recommended a Citrix on Azure Virtual Desktop solution using their existing Citrix Cloud subscription. This solution comprises the TMIPA users and serves as an operational model for Torrance. It prepares them to move their mainline clinical resources to a hybrid Citrix Cloud in the near future.

Impact

Torrance now has a solution that enables centralized management of virtual desktops and users, ease of use for end-users in remote work conditions, and the ability to advance into a phase two project that will expand the capabilities of this solution for other use cases within their organization.
